21 Day Challenge: Day One

Today is the first day of the 21 Day Challenge hosted by Kayla at Freckles in April.  For 21 straight days, I'm taking the challenge to create different outfits each day based on a prompt { or what I like to think of as an outfit "inspiration" word} from Kayla.  Today's prompt was "REMIX".  If you're as new to the fashion blogging world as I am, you're probably like, "Huh?".  Am I right?

What this means is; I'm supposed to pick a clothing article from my closet that I can remix, or wear again different ways, a few times throughout the challenge.  The rules are; the remix item must not be a pair of jeans { too easy, you slackers! } and you must work it into your challenge outfits at least three ways.  An extra point is given to anyone who is able to remix their item four different ways throughout the challenge.

{ Dress- Lauren Conrad for Kohls.  Sandals- H&M }

The dress I chose is the one I wrote about here when I was choosing something to wear to my ten year high school reunion--which was just last weekend.  Can you believe I didn't take a single picture that night?  Not one.  And I spent extra time on my hair and makeup, too.  Hmmph!  Too bad, but that is exactly the reason I chose this dress as my remix item.  I didn't want to purchase yet another dress for a special occasion, only to wear in once and have it sit in my closet for years until finally deciding to donate it.  This dress is much too pretty for that!  Maybe I chose something that will be more difficult to remix than the other 21 Day
Challenge-ers might choose, but it's important to me to wear this dress again and the challenge is the perfect way to make sure that gets done!  So wish me luck, here we go!

What item will you remix?

  13. ah, flower print dress, yes yes yes! so many possibilities. you look amazing by the way!!!
    thanks for your sweet comments on my day 1. the haircut...well it's also a DIYer. i couldn't afford a haircut and i was desperate to trim it. it works in the front but the layers in the back are iffy so i tend to wear it curly to hide the flaws. going this weekend (hopefully) for a real haircut and will try to not be scolded for doing it myself.
    happy day 2!
