Secret Sis

Have I ever mentioned how much I love gifting?  Love it, love it, love it!  I love birthdays and anniversaries, and new babies, and and and and...they're all reasons to gift.  Maybe even more than giving a thoughtful and meaningful gift to someone, I just might love the presentation.  The wrapping, the bow, the tissue paper, the carefully placed scotch tape.  I'm not really one for giving cards, mostly because I never know what to write or say.  But a pretty gift tag?  That's what I'm talking about.

Tomorrow morning { crap, why am I up still? } is our first Mothers Of PreSchoolers steering meeting of the year.  We'll be gearing up and planning for our first actual MOPS meeting that will take place next week.  There are about 600 reasons why I'm excited for MOPS to start this season.  One of them is because I'm part of the steering team this year { which is tremendously fun all on its own }, and we are going to be assigned a secret sis tomorrow to treat and gift to our heart's content throughout the year.

Out of all the things to be excited about, this just gets me the most.  And the being secretive about gift-giving thing just adds to the fun.  As far as I can remember, I've never participated in a secret sis/secret santa before, and I can't wait to find out who my secret sis is this year!

What is your favorite thing you've ever gifted?  What was the occasion, and how did you present it?

  1. Oh my gosh, I love these! I adore lovely wrapping. My mom always took special care wrapping the Christmas presents of my sister and I, because it made us feel special.

  2. OK...first of all....I HOPE YOU GET ME AS YOUR SS!! I love pretty things like you have above, mostly because those things don't come in my house unless someone gives them to me! Second, you crack me up! We should have been talking last night, i was up being slightly obsessive about today's meeting!! Thirdly...anything that is given to me the last 2 years has all been stuff I haven't seen or would get myself so THAT's what I love or been my favorite thing that I've gotten! Have fun Jamie!

    Seriously...I hope you have me!!!

  3. Ali, that's so sweet of your mom. I hope I'm successful in creating memories like that for my family. =)
