Today's prompt is "Wear a Closet Orphan", something that's been sitting in your dresser or on a hanger, unworn for some time. I have plenty of those.
I started going through my clothes to find something that hasn't been worn in a while. Three hours later, and a garbage bag full of forgotten items; I put together an outfit using two pieces that matched today's criteria.

I chose the forgotten cardigan and pants for today's challenge because at one point in life, I enjoyed wearing each of them. I liked the crochet detail on the cardigan and the sailor-style buttons on the front of the pants.
But after wearing them today for the first time in a long time, they both joined the donation pile. I thought the cardigan was awkward and short. The pants weren't comfortable to wear, either.
Oh well. I plan on sending them both off to Goodwill to make space for new stuff!
I think getting rid of stuff that isn't used is really cathartic. I feel like it clears more space in my head.
ReplyDeleteIt also clears literal space, so you can get something you actually want. I love that part.
